Primary Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the JR/SR High School principal and in consultation with the Elementary principal and Athletic/Activities Director. you will teach band and choir to 5- 12 grade students.

Essential Functions

• Prepare to teach (5-12) band and choir

• Report grades weekly for each class

• Prepare student for concerts

• Preform supervision duties as assigned

• Maintain positive communication with administration, staff, students and their parents

As a teacher you have nine personal days to use at your discretion. We believe that teachers want to be in the classroom, but when family and personal matters require you to be out of the building, you need the support of your employer. Our administrators work with their staff to support them in these cases or for a few minutes here or there. We also have progressive maternity and paternity policies. Our district also has an annual survey and utilizes several committees to be sure that teachers’ voices are heard and that classroom views are honored in policy development and there is a four day work week.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field

Prior Experience - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate with individuals in a positive manner\

• Give and receive feedback on performance

• Desire to improve your craft daily

• We are a G-Suite school, knowledge and ability to work within the G-Suite software helpful and will be taught to all new hires.

• Past experience working with the children in the target age group is helpful

• Past experience with audition honor clinics helpful but not required

Travel Requirements

It is anticipated that you will work primarily at the JR/SR High School but will have some classes at the Elementary School. There will also be opportunities to take the bands and choirs to league and honor clinics as well as other competitions.
