During the monthly assembly held on the 17th of September 194 students were recognized for achievement and or growth on CMAS (a state assessment), NWEA and DIBLES (local assessments). Achievement means that students met the benchmark standard for their grade level in the core areas of reading, writing, mathematics or science (social studies was not tested this year) at the 75th percentile or higher. Growth means a student's academic performance grew at a rate of 75% or higher than other students in the same grade. We are proud of these students.
This year the student council consists of representatives from each 5th and 6th grade homeroom class. Students had to present speeches to their classmates and then be elected by their peers. One of their responsibilities is to help the staff teach SOAR (Positive Behavior) and LEARNERS (the mindset of a learner) during the assembly. They are excited for this opportunity to serve their classmates.
For the next month, student will be working "L" learn from your mistakes and "S" safety.
