Holyoke Chamber of Commerce in recognizing students who go above and beyond in their efforts to RISE to Excellence.
The following students have been selected for October Students of the Month.
Junior High: Clifford Russell
Clifford was nominated by Mrs. Grothman. I feel that Clifford is a model for Dragon kindness towards others. He is always helping others in seminar and gives encouragement when others are struggling. He shows respect for adults and his peers. He asks what he needs to do then does it. His peers, when asked, picked him as someone they admire and trust. I think Clifford is a great role model of R.I.S.E. and what Dragon's spirit stands for.
Senior High School: Jeylin Dominguez
Jeylin was nominated by Mrs. Jabloinski. It is with high regard that I nominate Jeylin Dominguez as student of the month. I specifically admire her willingness to take the lead for her class by working the concession stand each time there is a chance and she takes her responsibilities in this area very seriously. She makes prompt but mindful decisions that have great impact on things such as her FCCLA projects and helping her fellow FCCLA members achieve their goals. I would even say that Jeylin will step up in times of need even if she has other things going on, she prioritizes her responsibilities so well, even as a young adult.
Additionally, in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School's Youth Connection work and the Board of Education's desire to recognize students at board meetings that demonstrate exceptional academics and behavior a Dragon Coin was designed by the administration to be given to students each month at a school board meeting.
