Holyoke Chamber of Commerce in recognizing students who go above and beyond in their efforts to RISE to Excellence.
The following students have been selected for December Students of the Month.
Junior High: Adri Mallari
Adri was nominated by a classmate.
I think Adri should be student of the month because she is honest, respectful, safe, smart, athletic, and most of all a great person.
Senior High School: Vanessa Vega Quintana
Vanessa Vega was nominated by Mrs. Jablonski.
I have had Vanessa in class since 2020 and each year I see her grow. In the past, I have been impressed in the past with her ability to take on challenges. This year specifically, she is in my biggest PE class and has shown the most leadership in procedural matters. She helps me translate for new students without being asked and makes sure that those new students feel welcome. Currently, as my intern, I can assign Vanessa a task and in the heat of the moment when I feel rushed, she understands what to do and tackles it flawlessly. With that comes her ability to problem solve to make sure the job gets done, even with little explanation. I am very excited to see how the rest of the semester turns out and what she will accomplish. Please consider selecting Vanessa Vega for the December Student of the Month award!
Additionally, in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School's Youth Connection work and the Board of Education's desire to recognize students at board meetings that demonstrate exceptional academics and behavior a Dragon Coin was designed by the administration to be given to students each month at a school board meeting.
