Last weekend, the Holyoke High School Girls Swim Team took on Conference in Greeley, Colorado. Everyone made finals, so it was a super exciting day. Many of the girls ended up clocking personal bests. Holyoke definitely killed it at Conference. Just when all of us thought the day couldn’t get any better, we realized that we were going to get to go state! Regan Van Overbeke, Anna Jelden, Lali Marquez, Traeli Hutches, Haley Van Overbeke, and Rylee Schneller all had the amazing opportunity to get to go to state! State was February 8th through February 9th. February 8th was prelims and February 9th was finals. All of the girls did an awesome job and tried their absolute best. Most of our girls even made it to finals! For individual events, Regan Van Overbeke made it to finals in her 500 freestyle and Rylee Schneller made it in her 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. The 400 free relay also made it to finals. The relay consisted of Regan Van Overbeke, Traeli Hutches, Haley Van Overbeke, and Rylee Schneller. At the end of the day, Regan Van Overbeke placed 16th in her 500 freestyle, Rylee Schneller placed 11th in the 100 breaststroke and 13th in the 200 IM. The 400 freestyle relay ended placing 15th, which was unexpected. All of the girls clocked amazing times on the relay, some of the girls swam the fastest 100 freestyle they had ever swum in their life. Regan, Traeli, and Haley all clocked 1:00’s, and Rylee Schneller clocked a 59.00. Congratulations to all of the Holyoke High School Swim Team, we are all so proud of you. What an amazing season!
