English Language Learners in kindergarten through second grade celebrated the end of a successful school year by making miniature piñatas filled with candy and confetti! Piñatas are a cultural tradition from Mexico, and they are used to celebrate special occasions or events. The ESL program at Holyoke Elementary helps students to learn to read, write, and speak the English language, while still preserving the language and cultural traditions of their heritage.
