Last week, the Holyoke Lady Dragons volleyball team went to the state tournament in Colorado Springs. After a great season full of many wins, our Lady Dragons were the state runner-up, only second to Sedgwick County. HHS won runner-up after three days, six matches, and 23 sets total. This year’s varsity and JV teams were the first in Holyoke High School history to gain any kind of major placement in the state tournament, and they made us all proud with their hard work and determination. Coach Vieselmeyer herself commented several times on how proud of the Lady Dragons she was. With a team full of seniors, their last year here at HHS was a memorable experience, where they made Holyoke Dragon history. Students Kristin Vieselmeyer, Elyse Talavera, Kyleigh Jaeger, and Wendy Chaparro Rangel, unfortunately, have to say goodbye this year in the spring, but they will be remembered by their underclassmen as great role models for the team. On behalf of the Holyoke School District and all of their supporters, congratulations, Dragons!
