This week for Throwback Thursday we go all the way back to 1642 when Elizur Holyoke received 10 rods of land in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. This later became known as the town of Holyoke. In 1888, Holyoke, Colorado was named for the town with the same name in Massachusetts.

This settler in the new world, like so many before him and so many after, left a legacy for which we should be forever grateful. Today we give thanks to those that came before and those that will come after.
